ORAH

Updated: Aug 13, 2021

On way to a familiar place today. the path is strikingly known yet so unknown. feeling exuberant, yet somewhere in there, is pinch of untold desolation. as the wind is rushing past me, I'm seeing the crack of lightning across the fields and listening to the roar of thunder. and here comes the persistent drops of rain! Now I'm lost!! :D

weekend trip to Ghatshila is vey convenient. you can cover the basics with one night stay. you will need to reach ghatshila ( train from kolkata/ Jamshedpur or others, by road), if you have your own vehicle then simply write the names in google maps and start off. if there's no vehicle, then simply rent it with 2.5K- 3K for whole day.

I had mailed mission for guesthouse in advance. Phone : 06585-225 110 ; https://www.rkmathghatshila.org/copy-of-contact

E-mail : ghatshila@rkmm.org; rkmathgts@gmail.com ( please note that you won't get rooms if you are a solo female traveler, so plan accordingly)

our stay in ground floor

started the day with seeking blessing in Rankini mandir. if the weather is ok, you can trek to hilltop nearby, its fun

on way to shiv temple, its rugged path filled with uneven boulders; please wear proper shoes. its decent 30 mins climb, carry waterbottles

on reaching the peak :D ( please avoid carrying plastic waterbottles, though we are carrying here in the pic and I'm regretting that; we have consciously shifted toward eco friendly material like steel or copper bottles)

it was task to close the metal railings of the temple

Burudi Dam

St Joseph's, mosabani

No delay in capturing the playground

Lunch spot

our lifeline

Evening snacks

somewhere along the Subarnarekha river

house of Bibhutibhusan Bandyopadhyay

There are few places which you will be covering like Rankini mandir, galudih dam, subarnarekha river, bridge, bibhutibhusan' s home, burudi dam and maybe two three more.

if you are visiting Mosabani, have some bakery products esp the cookies

visit the local market in Ghatshila, there is place where they sell snacks in some play ground. we had our evening snacks there; breakfast -lunch and dinner was at Ramkrishna mission guesthouse.

Please be responsible traveler. don't litter plastics and carry your own waterbottle.
