Sandakphu ~Experiencing 5 types of snow

Once upon a time.. Just kidding!

Here, the pictures will narrate the story.

After failing to convince my friends from my (first) earlier trek throughout 2018 , I gathered my courage to go solo. I got to know about IndiaHikes from an acquaintance and booked Sandakphu. My parents were much calmer this time 🤪😅😂 My mom even went to buy me a cup, sending pics in whatsup for selection.

Day 1- NJP to Jowbhari

I remember my Train being late to NJP station and I was texting in our group to wait for few minutes. after disembarking from train, I rushed toward the exit and met my would be friends.

From the start we hit off. It was chaos in our vehicles with roars of laughter. Members from other vehicles were initially curious and later brushed us off as mad. 😂

Our Vehicle team from left- Teddy ( Sarang), Ujjwal ( flight misser), me, Leader ( Rochika) and silent observer ( Nakul)

Mid way photoshoot

we stopped on way to buy some oranges and nakul nudged me forward, assuming that I'll bargain in local language and get better deal. and 😂 after few minutes both Rochika and Nakul pulled me back and took charge. I stuffed few fuchkas while others were busy clicking pics.

Master photographer for this location. You should have seen his professional poses

I was suffering from sore throat during that later half of the day. Observing this, Suhas da handed me a burnt ginger in evening. It was of great help. acted as miracle! He managed to give me another dash of ginger the next day 🙂

Day 3- Tumling to garibas- kalipokhri

Usually in home, I don't wake up before 7.30am but on treks I hop out from my sleeping bags before 5am to watch sunrise

Moon on one side and

While I was standing in this hill top, near the pagoda, something brushed my legs and scared my heart off. on peeking below, I was met with playful foxy who went missing for past 2 days. It was such a relief! we sat for few minutes, quietly enjoying the serene environment. Foxy being foxy, started running, hoping that I would join the play but at 5.30am I lacked vigor 😅😂 Thankfully one of her friend joined her and they continued in their own way

😂🤣 our group wish him birthday every year with this pic

Vishal Bhau with big generosity declared that he will company me today. while he informed me, though I was grateful; I had a dejavu from earlier trek ( Gaurav) that bhau will regret this midway. And HE DID! He didn't say it loud, but I could sense that he's regretting being in the last leg 😂 That was the first and last day he accompanied me.

start of snow

😎

Welcome home!

Here we had formed two groups ( two fire places) and started off with antakshari. We sang 3 words, sometimes making up songs and fighting to justify our points 😂 the other group had Abhishek ( star singer) and others who somehow managed to sing n number of songs. My friend, while going through this post made me remember that we were stuck with songs starting with letter "m"

While sleeping, we had magical moment😂 slim trail of snow was pouring inside through roof. Initially we were watching enthralled and then remembered the practicality of situation. we tugged ourself into sleeping bags and had good sleep.

Day 5- sandakphu to sabagram
