Weekend in Shimla and Kufri

Big shout to our team (you know who you are) for such encouragement!😘

After finishing my MBA exam in August, I decided to take a break. and that oasis for me was trekking in mountains (details on next blog). Here I'm, stuffing my bag and rushing towards North, Shimla

I call these shelves 'lit-upwith-joy'

I couldn't capture the serenity with which the clouds was caressing the blades of plane. and somewhere it was pouring hell

Reached Delhi; having ample amount of time started wandering from New Delhi Railway station towards old Delhi. if you want to feel the pulse of the city, step up and dive into the unknown lanes. Along the narrow dark lanes, you will hear shouts of call, murmurings and chuckles of school girls hoping past, the rhythm of cycle tires and sudden honk of scooter around the corner; these dim lanes are lit with "Dilwale ki Dilli"

Couldn't miss this particular outlet. truely it was worth the visit

Now, the earlier silent lanes were replaced with swarms of people. some had happiness in their eyes, few had wonder, some were wary of the rushing vehicles and some had irritation. in whole it looked like multitude pebbles on riverbed where life was flowing over them, while they sparkled their euphoria and disgruntlement.

I might be stoned for this but I think kolkata has better street food than Delhi. If you believe otherwise then you better convince me

Even the chicken salad(below) of burgril is way better in kolkata

Reached Kalka at 3am and was greeted with symphony of birds

Doorways and seats keep fascinating me.

This "Hop on Hop off" is interesting and economical

Here comes our Train

Kulcha break

I had spilled half of the tea instead of drinking it

the above procedure was repeated in every station, It signifies that its safe to proceed to next station

Tunnels and arch bridges!! It was joy to watch the first light break into the horizon and then sunbeams streaking into the hills. flocks of clouds, wild vibrant flowers and branches laid with green brown leaves, paving way for our tiny whistling train.

Shimla Rly station- was met with many older people trying to help the passengers with accommodation and transport. but I had already booked my hostel online, so took out my map and strode forward

Another doorway 🙈😅 (I had warned you earlier!)

Post office

M1- "Hey bro! care to Lie down? its pretty good after such heavy rain

M2- Nope.

btw somebody is taking our pics

M1- What!!! where? when?

M2- ____

M1- Dash! you should have told me from start! I would've given my reflective pose!

M2- whatever

Indian coffee house- Idli sambar vada, keema dhosa ( donot try) and two cold coffee ( must have). the concept of this coffee house seemed different. on wall it was mentioned not to stay after finishing food. in kolkata people linger for hours without being told to leave the seat. might be due to limited capacity

Castle from disney world! 😂 no no. it isn't. it is office of SP.

Try the murrabas here

walked toward the ropeway to find that some vip was visiting ( president) so it has been closed for inspection for 2 hrs

therefore started toward Jakku temple

Everyone need their own space

They didn't allow on ropeway after 2 hrs. walked down the roads toward my hostel

our dorm

Living room and common space

Amla and carrot murraba

Our Aditi at work

Sumit getting life gyans

Our whole dorm in Ashiana ( ambience is great but food, try somewhere else)

Ice-cream at 11.30pm

some wandering

Back to hostel with challenges

😂

Sarang did the final deed. It was around 12.10am when Akansha, hostel rep informed us that a girl is there in other room whose Birthday is today. we were playing UNO in final leg. keeping the cards aside, we rushed to gather our chocolates, energybars, plates and candles. after making a jenga cake of energy bars on plate, we lit the candle ( wrote name of Mausam with ketchup) and started banging her door. Sumit started playing happy birthday jingle and a lean girl with apprehension in her eyes opened her door, first slightly; after hearing our birthday chorus, her door was left ajar.

Midnight celebration and then back to business ( UNO) and later bluff

We went back to sleep at 2.30am

Kiddos at work. making tea and maggi

The ultra active member jogged out to buy milk, bread and coffee while the seniors were sleeping 😂

Did we mention this in dorm? we were thankful for the tea and maggi

Group tour to jakku temple ( my second visit 😪, better than visiting at 4am)

If you ransack sumit's bag anytime, you will get 3-5 biscuit packets. here he's putting those biscuits into use

No comments on above poster

😂🤣

Meet these (above) people, who are trying and finding easier to walk backward and they did walk like that for more than 5 minutes

Me- Hey! Don't look at me, even I'm not related to them

Butterflies!!! naa, butterfly looking flowers

Water breaks

Toddy tea

try the panipuri outside jakku temple. it's delicious

We rented a vehicle outside jakku temple for kufri. and here we are about to have a hell of adventure

There's CPRI shop; have the french fries and pizzas

😂 well, adjust your head accordingly🤣

Can you hear the chorus? hear it with the passing clouds

Sumit putting his snacks in use

Our jovial team

Kali

what did u guys get? bird's poop??

Happy smiles

Must visit

one is never enough. three is better number

Mask and police in Ridge

Our birthday girl, Mausam (after starving for whole day) being jain had left much earlier. Aditi, Ujjwal and Sarang left, because they were not hungry after having one ice cream. just imagine! only one ice cream! After codling them away, me and Sumit dived into this festivities

yogurt based chickpeas was very tasty

Next day, all of us were leaving for different destination. Mausam and Sumit were embarking on separate adventures. Aditi was set for Delhi. remaining for Buran ghati trek.

Try to visit this cafe run by open prisoners. Every time we tried to visit, it was closed

Our faceless man off to his bike adventure

This was my second time staying is hostel and I loved it. I was taught UNO, Jenga and bluff ( which I didn't play). met amazing people with whom we shared great many experiences, we laughed and cried ( in horror); we wandered into the silent nights and discussed outlook of life.

Hope to see to guys again with renewed dreams and achieved realities 💕

Pc: Aditi, Ujjwal, Sumit
